Artificial sweeteners
人工甜味剂 / künstliche Süßstoffe / 인공 감미료
A chemically synthesized sweetener with a much higher sweetness intensity than sugar, allowing the same level of sweetness to be achieved with a smaller amount and commonly used for calorie-reduction purposes.
Soft drinks, confectionery products, dairy products, seasonings, and pharmaceuticals
Manufacturing process
※This process is just one example, and the manufacturing methods vary by company.
To accelerate crystal maturation within a shorter time, a high shear force is required. At the same time, in order to obtain a plastically deformable mass and to promote rapid cooling and solidification in downstream process, it is necessary to remove both the mixing heat generated by shear and the heat of crystallization. Furthermore, it is desirable to form the material into shapes suitable for downstream cooling, such as noodles or flat strips.
The twin-screw continuous kneader "KRC Kneader" can remove heat while applying high shear force, enabling the production of uniform and stable products by its following mechanical characteristics.
High shearing force generated by paddles with small clearances
Removal of kneading heat and heat of crystallization by cooling through the jacketed barrel
Discharge through a specialized nozzle allows the product to be extruded in noodle-shaped or flat form
Cooling
※A portion of the crystallized product is used as the crystallized sweetener in the raw material to be perocessed.
