Description of Final products

A material composed of porous carbon that has selective adsorption properties for specific substances, and has been chemically and/or physically treated (activated) to achieve high adsorption efficiency. The product is available in various forms, such as powder, granules, and cylindrical shapes.

Applications

Dry desulfurization and denitrification of combustion flue gas from power plants and steelworks (removal of sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx))

Manufacturing process

Raw material to be processed (general coal)
Crushing
The material is crushed into the specified shape.
Carbonizing
A controlled amount of volatile components is volatilized using a rotary kiln.
Grinding
The material is ground to the specified particle size.

Processing in a low-oxygen environment is required to prevent dust explosions.

The vertical roller mill VX Mill" enables grinding and particle size adjustment under an inert gas atmosphere by the following mechanical characteristics and system.

A closed-loop circulation system enables operation under an inert gas atmosphere.

Roller pressure and table speed are adjustable to achieve the target particle size.

Kneading
The material is kneaded with a binder and/or water under heating.

Due to the extremely high flowability of the material, the kneading intensity must be controlled to obtain optimal formability, bulk density, and uniformity. Furthermore, wear resistance against carbon is required for all material-contact parts.

The twin-screw continuous kneader "KRC Kneader" enables adjustment of the kneading intensity while producing uniform and stable products by the following mechanical characteristics.

Kneading intensity is adjustable through paddle configuration and rotation speed.

Binder viscosity is maintained by heating the jacketed barrel.

Wetted parts are made of wear-resistant materials. And easy to replace.

Granulating
The material is granulated into high-density pellets of a specified size that are resistant to powdering.
Activating
Activation is carried out with steam using a rotary kiln.
Cooling
The material is cooled using a rotary cooler, etc.
Classifying
Fine particles are removed by sieving.
